Quadrant Scientific specializes in the design of electromagnetic coil sensors, which are used in electromagnetic tracking systems for medical and industrial applications. These sensors detect magnetic field variations generated by a Field Generator (FG), allowing precise position and orientation tracking. Quadrant Scientific provides 5 degrees of freedom (5DoF) and 6 degrees of freedom (6DoF) sensor solutions. The 5DOF sensor provides position and orientation information for five degrees of freedom (5DOF) – x, y and z position and pitch and yaw orientation The 6DOF sensor provides position and orientation information for six degrees of freedom (6DOF) – x, y and z position and pitch, yaw and roll.
Quadrant Scientific navigation systems and tracking products are general metrology components that can be integrated into third party products, research experiments, or medical devices. The third party acquiring our system will be responsible to assign the specific intended use to their products and to identify the relevant risk classification of the final product incorporating Quadrant’s navigation system. The third party will be responsible for establishing the relevant regulatory, testing, verification and validation requirements and activities to prove safety and performance of the final product incorporating Quadrant’s technology. The third party remains responsible for any system-level testing and certification.
