Quadrant Scientific offer a full range of testing protocols for Electromagnetic Navigation systems and sensors. We have built a suite of bespoke automated test equipment, that can quickly and effectively measure the accuracy and performance of a customer’s solutions. For accuracy measurements, we have developed a robotic test system that can characterize a sensor or device throughout the entire working volume of a given Field Generator.

For sensor analysis, we use a custom made sensor test system that uses a three axis Helmholtz coil array to apply a known magnetic field to fully analyse the response of the magnetic sensors. In particular, non-linearity characteristics of the sensors can be explored using this system. Issues relating to variability in sensor manufacturing, materials, winding for example, can be detected using this system and accuracy issues maybe diagnosed easily.
